Interfaith National Day of Prayer Service Interfaith Forum observed the 2009 National Day of Prayer the first Thursday in May with an interfaith prayer service on the front steps of Allen Temple AME Church in Greenville’s historic West End. With the theme “Caring for Our Community” it included brief testimonials of “Prayer-in-Action” from leaders representing caring ministries in our city: United Ministries; GAIHN (Greenville Area Interfaith Homeless Network); and the West End Community Development Corporation; and prayers from representatives of a variety of faith communities represented in Greenville. Beyond Tolerance: A Community Conversation March 26, 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.. The Interfaith Forum hosted a screening and discussion of the award-winning 2006 film “Divided We Fall” in the Fellowship Hall of Westminster Presbyterian Church, located at 2310 Augusta Street in Greenville. The film, produced by Valarie Kaur, is a poignant examination of the hate violence—especially acts of religious intolerance—that followed in the weeks and months after the 9/11 attacks. The film posed a number of timely questions concerning the place of religious diversity in a democratic society and prompted much discussion. Activities of Past Year (2007-08) include: November '08.
